NEGERI OPPOSITION DEMANDS MB SUSPEND EXCO

FMT News Zefry Dahalan  September 19, 2012
Beleagured Negeri Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan must suspend his state executive councillor who allegedly fired a weapon last week.
SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin has issued an ultimatum to Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan, demanding that he suspend an Umno exco member who allegedly fired a weapon on Thursday night.
Cha, who is Bukit Kepayang assemblyman, also wants Mohamad to explain what really happened.

“The incident happened on Thursday night. It is regretted that as chief of the state government, Mohamad did not give any statement on the alleged incident.

“This is a serious case and he can’t keep quiet on the matter. A police report has been lodged and police admitted that they are investigating the incident.

“But Mohamad has still not given any statement or taken any action so far.

“Tomorrow is the state exco meeting and I hope Mohamad will give a statement on the matter. If he chooses to remain silent, all Pakatan Rakyat state assemblymen will raise the issue in State Legislative Assembly sitting which is scheduled to commence on Oct 8 and 9,” Cha told reporters here today.

Meanwhile, Rasah PKR deputy chief, R Tangam, reminded the police not to cover up the case but to investigate without fear or favour.

“If this case is covered up, Pakatan leaders and members will lodge a complaint to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission [MACC] headquarters in Putrajaya.

“We also will lodge another report with the Attorney-General. I hope the police won’t practise double standard in this case,” said Tangam.

Seremban PKR deputy chief, Dr Mohamad Rafie Abdul Malek, reiterated that police must take action just like what they did against Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s bodyguard, Harizal Zahid, in Malacca on Sept 8.

“There should not be any double standard. The latest incident proves that Umno leaders in Negeri Sembilan are unethical and have bad behaviour.

“It’s not not only this case, but also the corruption allegation case involving Lenggeng state assemblyman Mustafa Salim [Umno] who was charged in court and the case is still ongoing.

“Then there is the alleged RM10 million which was transferred abroad by Mohamad.”

Also present at the press conference was Negeri Sembilan PAS Youth chief, Mohd Khairil Anuar Wafa.

Hadir sama, Ketua Pemuda Pas negeri, Mohd Khairil Anuar Mohd Wafa, Setiausaha DAP Negeri, Cha Kee Chin dan Pengerusi Penaung Majlis Permuafakatan DUN Labu, Ismail Ahmad.

REMOVAL OF OPPOSITION FLAGS DRAWS FLAK

FMT News Zefry Dahalan  September 19, 2012
The Seremban Municipal Council has come under fire for only targeting PAS, PKR and DAP flags while turning a blind eye to BN and Umno flags.
SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan PAS Youth has warned the Seremban Municipal Council (MPS) to act fairly and not become the agent of Umno and Barisan Nasional.
Negeri Sembilan PAS Youth chief Mohd Khairil Anuar Wafa in a joint press conference with PKR and DAP here issued the warning after MPS enforcement officers brought down Pakatan Rakyat component parties’ flags, banners and buntings for the past one month.

“What irked us is that MPS enforcement officers only brought down PAS, PKR and DAP flags or banners but didn’t touch the Umno and BN flags.

“If MPS wants to bring down our flags and banners then bring down the Umno and BN flags and banners as well. Why the double standard?” he asked.

Khairil said this was not only happening in Seremban but other districts as well

“Recently my men bumped into a few enforcement officers from the Kuala Pilah District Council who were bringing down our party flags in Johol.

“They were doing this at 2am [after work hours] and not in their uniforms. When my men questioned them, they only identified themselves as enforcement officers.

“If MPS and the other district councils keep doing this, PAS Youth will not hesitate to bring down the Umno and BN flags and banners,” he added.

Meanwhile, Seremban PKR deputy chief Dr Mohamad Rafie Abdul Malek said on Sept 14, MPS enforcement officers brought down PKR, PAS and DAP flags in the housing areas of Taman Bukti, Taman Tok Wan and Gedung Lalang 162 around 2am.

“However the officers let the Umno and BN flags remain. PKR, PAS and DAP are registered entities like Umno,” he added.

Also present at the press conference were Bukit Kepayang state assemblyman Cha Kee Chin (DAP) and Rasah PKR deputy chief R Tangam.

Contacted by FMT this morning, MPS president Abdul Halim Abdul Latif said: “I don’t want to comment, I’m sorry.”
